Addressing the nation through 72nd edition of his monthly radio programme, he said the outgoing year saw the spirit of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ echo in society.

PM Modi appealed to people to buy Kashmiri saffron and said that his government is working to make it a ‘globally popular brand’. He said that Kashmiri saffron, which recently got the GI tag, represents the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. Saffron has been associated with Kashmir for centuries. Kashmir saffron is mainly grown in areas such as Pulwama, Budgam and Kishtwar.

2) Manufacturers should ensure Indian products are world-class

Modi also urged citizens to take new year resolution for the betterment of the country, use more local products in their day-to-day lives. “I urge manufacturers and industry leaders of the country, people of the country have taken a firm step moving a bold step forward. Vocal for local is reverberating in each and every household in such a scenario, it is time to ensure that our products meet global standards.” he said.

3) PM Modi praises ‘can-do’ and ‘will do’ spirit of the youth of India

“When I see the youth of India, I feel delighted and assured. Delighted and assured because the youth of my country has the ‘can do’ approach and the ‘will do’ spirit in them. No challenge is too big for them. Nothing is out of reach for them,”the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to resolve to make the country free from single-use plastic. “We should take a vow that we will not litter, this is the first resolve of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. I want to remind you of one more thing which couldn’t be discussed that much because of the coronavirus pandemic. We have to make our country free from single-use plastic; this should also be one of the resolutions for 2021,” he said.
