Now India boasts of Asia’s longest high-speed test track

Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javadekar virtually inaugurated Asia’s longest high-speed test track located in Pithampur, Indore in India. The NATRAX facility is oval-shaped and measures 11.3 km in length and 16 metres wide with four independent lanes. The track is the longest in Asia and the fifth-largest in the world. Javadekar said, it is the longest such track in Asia and will be used for measuring the maximum speed capabilities of high-end cars and other categories of vehicles. Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Arjun Ram Meghwal and others were also present on the occasion.

“Inaugurating the world-class- 11.3 km High-Speed Track in Indore, the longest such track in Asia. It will be used for measuring the maximum speed capabilities of high-end cars and other categories of vehicles,” Javadekar tweeted.

Many projects in the railways, highways etc. which were languishing for years are today getting completed because of the strong political will. NATRAX- the high-speed track completed and inaugurated today is another example that shows how Modi govt. works, the minister said.

NATRAX is located only 50km away from Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh. The NATRAX centre has been developed on around 3,000 acres of land. NATRAX, is well connected by rail, road and air from an important place such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Dubai.

The large size of this track enables the Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to perform a wide variety of tests in one track itself like coast down tests, brake tests, constant speed fuel consumption test, speedometer calibration, noise, and vibration measurement, and mileage accumulation among others.
